A Highly Collectable Gold and Tortoiseshell mounted English bow by Malcolm Taylor (Born 1933), 1984.

Malcolm Maurice Taylor is a much esteemed British bow maker who worked at W.E. Hill & Sons, London, from 1949 to 1973, making most of their first grade bows along with William Watson.

Our example features an octagonal stick with a dark tortoiseshell frog mounted in gold and inlaid with lovely golden doves. The button is three-part gold and tortoiseshell with a pearl dot. The face plate is also gold. Underneath the frog the date 0584 and England are stamped. A piece for a collector to dream on, this bow is a very playable 59 grams.

Price: $4,000
