Adolf Curt Schuster, Markneukirchen, Germany (1890-1947) Ebony/Silver Mounted

Adolf Schuster was one of the best twentieth century bowmakers in the famous little town of Markneukirchen in the East of Germany. He is known for his well seasoned wood, and for the strength and balance of his sticks. Our example is a remarkable replica of James Tubbs' best period. The graceful head is especially faithful to its model, and is fitted with a silver face plate, another characteristic touch.

The bow is fashioned of a sonorous pernambuco of a dark chestnut brown color. Schuster has captured the uniquely smooth tracking of a Tubbs bow in this example. The bow bears the maker's brand: Adolf C. Schuster. . A versatile performer. Weight: 63.5 grams.
