Franz Albert Nurnberger, Markneukirchen, Germany
(1854-1931)

This workshop is world famous for the beautiful precise workmanship and the consistent quality of their bows. Nurnberger bows are celebrated for their strength, which has been achieved without a sense of over-heaviness. These bows have been used by famous virtuosi including David Oistrakh and Fritz Kreisler.

This example is a Tourte model of octagonal section. The choice pernambuco is of a dark chestnut-brown color. The plain ebony frog is mounted in silver. The weight of the bow is a comfortable 57 grams. It draws a smooth, open tone with a sense of effortlessness.

Sorry...this one sold!
